Dean of the School

Prof.Li Qingsheng, member of the Communist Party of China; Master of English Language and Literature; professor of the School of Foreign Languages and Literature, Wuhan University; postgraduate student tutor; vice director of foreign language expert panel of Hubei Education Examinations Authority; member of higher education college foreign language teaching guidance committee of the Ministry of Education; and former Assistant Dean of the School of Foreign Languages and Literature, Wuhan University. He graduated from the English Department of Wuhan University in July 1978, and has stayed in the university teaching English since July of the same year. He has studied in or visited Britain, the United States, France, Germany, and other nations.

In over 30 years of teaching and research, he has taught more than 10 courses including comprehensive English, English reading, English listening, English grammar, stylistics, guide to English linguistics, language and thinking, and pragmatics. The course “guide to English linguistics” is rated as an “excellent course of Wuhan University”. He has organized or taken part in more than 10 university level, provincial, or national level key research projects; published 40 plus academic papers, books, translated books and textbooks; and has won many honors such as provincial excellent postgraduate student tutor, provincial excellent teacher, Wuhan University excellent teacher, etc.
